Tata Motors’ new electric vehicle has officially been launched in Nepal. The company’s compact sedan Tigor EV has now gone on sale in Nepali market available from official distributor Sipradi Trading.

Tata’s new electric vehicle has received a four-star rating in the Global NCAP Safety Test. The company opened its booking in India 4 months ago.

“We are delighted to unveil a new electric Tigor based on the Ziptron technology,” said Sales Chandra, president of the Passenger Vehicle Business Unit.

The company has paid special attention to the exterior and interior design of the new electric Tigor. The new Tigor EV features a well designed projector headlamp. The front grille and front bumper of the vehicle have also been updated.

The Tigor EV also gets blue highlights inside the headlamps and on the 14-inch stylised steel wheels, which feature a new design.

Additionally, it gets projector headlamps and revised fog light housing with LED Daytime Running Lamps integrated in the front bumper. The Tigor EV is available in two color options – Signature Teal Blue and Daytona Grey.

Tata has given the Tigor EV blue accents on the interior too, to help differentiate it from its petrol-powered sibling. The gear lever has also been replaced with a rotary dial for the drive mode selector.

On the equipment front, the Tigor EV gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, iRA connected car tech, 4 speakers and 4 tweeters, automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster.

The new electric Tigor, based on the Ziptron technology, packs a 26-kilowatt lithium-ion battery with an IP67 rating that is available in conjunction with an electric motor. It generates 73.75 hp of power and 170 Nm of torque. Customers get an 8-year warranty on the battery.

The new electric Tigor can be charged at home using a 25kW DC charger. With the help of fast charger, it can be charged up to 80 percent in an hour. It takes 8 hours to charge 80 percent in a household socket.

According to the company, the new electric Tigor takes 5.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph. This car can be driven in two modes, ‘drive’ and ‘sport’. The car comes with a ground clearance of 172mm.

The Ziptron Tigor EV has a claimed ARAI range of 306km, which is considerably more than the older model’s 142km and 213km range for the standard and extended range version respectively.

The 4-star rating in the Global NCAP Crash Test features dual airbags for safety, ABS with EBD, Corner Stability Control, Hill Assist Control, Hill Descent Control.

The company says that the warranty will be available on batteries and motors for up to 8 years or 160,000 kilometers. Similarly, warranty will be available for up to 3 years or 125,000 kilometers on the vehicle.

The company is positive that this new electric Tiger from Tata will have a good market like the Electric Nexon.

The Tata Tigor EV has a ground clearance of 172 mm and a boot space of 316 liters. Tigor EV’s contemporary style, humanity line, dual tone, new front grille and super style wheels add an electrifying experience to its exterior.

It has spacious seats, flat bottom steering wheel, automatic temperature control, glove box and rear seats. Features include a 7-inch Hermann Infotainment touchscreen, automatic climate control, digital LCD instrument cluster, auto AC, seat height adjustable driver seat and more.

It also comes with dual airbags, corner stability control and ABS with EBD and rear park assist with camera with dynamic guideway.

Tata Motors has made it easy to locate charging points and get charging status and various other information through the Easy app. It provides state-of-the-art connectivity.

Tata Tigor EV Price in Nepal

The Tigor EV model has been launched in Nepali market in three variants.

The Electric Tigor is available in variants – XE, XM and XZ Plus. And, these will be available in two color options.

The company has priced the XE variant at Rs. 29.99 Lakh, the XM at Rs. 31.49 lakh and the highest variant XZ Plus at Rs. 32.99 Lakh. The XZ Plus is also available in dual tone options.
