Xiaomi recently introduced the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max smartphones, and Redmi Note 9S has finally gone official.
There are several devices in the 9 Series from a entry level to a mid-range, models Redmi Note 9, Redmi 9, and Redmi 9A will be available at lower price segment.
As rumoured, the Redmi Note 9S is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro that was launched in India earlier this month.

The design of this device is symmetrical, i.e, the front panel has a punch hole for the camera at the top center of the screen and thin bezels surround on the sides/top and it has a slightly thicker chin at the bottom. The 6.67-inch display occupies 91% of the front panel and has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.
The rear panel with the square camera module is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 (as well as the front one) and is available in three color options : white, blue and gray. Despite the fact that the smartphone has a battery of capacity 5020 mAh, its thickness is only 8.8 mm. The fingerprint scanner is located on the side panel and it also doubles as a power button.
The 8-nm Snapdragon 720G processor is paired with the Adreno 618 and the MIMO 2 x 2 Support. At Antutu, it scored just under 280,000 points, but its performance is noticeably higher than the Samsung Galaxy A51 Exynos 9611 processor.
There is 64GB and 128GB of onboard storage that can further be expanded via a microSD card (up to 512GB).
The main camera comes equipped in a quad setup with 48 MP, 8 MP, 5 MP, 2 MP. The front-facing camera is 16 MP.
The Redmi Note 9S comes equipped with a 5020mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, and the fast charger comes in the retail package.
Redmi Note 9S will be offered in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey colour options. The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 9S runs on Android 10 with MIUI 11 custom skin on top.
Connectivity is handled by 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NavIC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication.

Redmi Note 9S has now been launched in the Nepali market.
