OnePlus 8 Pro Launched in Nepali market

Oneplus today launched it’s first 5G smartphones – Oneplus 8 and Oneplus 8 Pro at an online event . The flagship model Oneplus 8 Pro boasts several features over the younger sibling Oneplus 8 and clearly stands out in terms of premium features such as quad setup rear cameras, IP68 certification and Warp Charge 30 wireless charging support.

The OnePlus 8 Pro sports a 6.78-inch QHD+ (1440×3168 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display along with up to 120Hz refresh rate up from the 90Hz one we saw on the OnePlus 7T series. The display has a 19.8:9 aspect ratio, and a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

It also features a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. It also features a 10-bit colour panel and an HDR10+ rating. OnePlus at the launch event said it has been awarded an A+ rating by DisplayMate, breaking 13 records.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, this 5G device is coupled with 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage options, both of which aren’t expandable using a microSD card.

On the camera front, the OnePlus 8 Pro has the quad rear camera setup that houses a 48-megapixel primary Sony IMX689 sensor — along with an f/1.78 lens that has optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS) support.

The primary camera sensor is accompanied by an 8-megapixel secondary sensor that has an f/2.44 telephoto lens and OIS support, paired with a 48-megapixel tertiary sensor that includes an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens. The camera setup also includes a 5-megapixel “Color Filter” camera sensor that will bring artistic lighting effects and filters, along with an f/2.4 lens. Moreover, the smartphone offers 3x hybrid support and 4K video recording at 30/ 60fps.

For selfies, the OnePlus 8 Pro has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor at the front along with an f/2.45 lens and 1.0-micron pixel size.

OnePlus has provided a 4,510mAh battery on the OnePlus 8 Pro that supports Warp Charge 30T (5V/ 6A) and Warp Charge 30 Wireless, apart from reverse wireless charging. Besides, the phone measures 165.3×74.35×8.5mm and weighs 199 grams.

OnePlus is also including an IP68 rating for the OnePlus 8 Pro, meaning it should be dust resistant and be dunked in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, flicker detect sensor, front RGB sensor, laser sensor, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The dual-SIM (Nano) OnePlus 8 Pro runs Android 10 with OxygenOS on top.

The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with an Alert Slider to let you easily turn off ringtone alerts. The phone also includes dual stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos technology and offers Audio 3D and Audio Zoom features. Further, there is an upgraded Haptic Vibration engine that is touted to deliver 11 percent more powerful vibrating effects over what was available on the previous-generation OnePlus flagship.

The phone comes in Glacial Green, Onyx Black, and Ultramarine Blue colour options.
