At a launch event in China on Monday, Honor introduced the Honor Pad V8 Pro tablet, the Honor 80 GT smartphone, and the Honor Band 7 activity tracker.
The newest tablet from the Chinese company has a 12.1-inch IPS LCD display that refreshes at a rapid 144 times per second. MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 SoC fuels the Honor Pad V8 Pro, which also ships with Android 12 and the MagicOS 7.0 skin.
It has a single 13-megapixel shooter on the rear and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter up front.
Honor V8 Pro Specs
MagicOS 7.0, based on Android 12, comes preinstalled on the Honor Pad V8 Pro. It features a 12.1-inch IPS LCD screen with a 1,600 x 2,560 pixel resolution, 600 nits of peak brightness, and a refresh rate of 144 hertz.
The tablet has an octa-core System-on-Chip (SoC) made by MediaTek called Dimensity 8100, as well as up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The Honor Pad V8 Pro has one 13-megapixel camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and an LED flash located on the rear. The front-facing camera is a 5 megapixel f/2.2 model.
However, while the rear camera is capable of 4K video recording, the front-facing camera can only record in full HD.
Wi-Fi 6, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB Type-C connector are all available for network connectivity.
The tablet supports the Magic Pencil 3 and the Smart Touch keyboard, and it even has an accelerometer integrated right in.
The Honor Pad V8 Pro has a 10,050mAh battery and can be quickly charged at 35W.
The polyurethane Burning Orange model is significantly thicker at 6.99mm and slightly heavier at 599 grammes, while the metallic Clear Sky Blue and Star Gray colour versions are 277mm x 178.95mm x 6.64mm and weigh 589 grams.
Honor V8 Pro Tablet Price and Availability
For the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, the Honor Pad V8 Pro tablet costs CNY 2,599 (about USD 375), while the top-end model with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage costs CNY 2,899 (roughly USD 416).
The most expensive configuration, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, will set you back CNY 3,299(roughly USD 474). However, there is now a discount of CNY 100 (about USD 14.35) across all three configurations.
Burning Orange, Clear Sky Blue, and Star Gray are the three colour options for the Honor Pad V8 Pro. Pre-orders for the tablet can be placed at this time on the Honor website, with sales beginning on December 30.
