BMW G 310 GS
The BMW G310GS is powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC single that produces 34 horsepower and 20.7 ft-lbs of torque—not bad for a little engine.
Performance comes from an efficient EFI system and a cylinder head that is turned around backwards to allow cool air to enter and exit the engine in a more streamlined fashion.
A larger swing arm length on the short 58-inch wheelbase provides for more-balanced handling and increased stability.
BMW claims that this lowers the centre of gravity and provides a front wheel weight bias that increases responsiveness.
Upside-down forks, a 4-piston front disc brake, an LCD display and LED taillight are all included in the G310GS’s premium components.
In addition, an on-the-fly switchable anti-lock brake system (ABS) is included as standard equipment. In addition to the 7.1 inches of suspension travel up front and back, a 19-inch front wheel, and rudimentary sump protection, it’s trail-ready as well. It weighs 169kg wet and has a seat height of 32.9 inches (32.3 inches with the optional low seat).

BMW G 310 R
The BMW G 310 R is the first production BMW motorcycle to be made outside Germany. Yes, it’s made in India, by TVS Motor Company, under the BMW Motorrad-TVS agreement.
And now, the G310R is finally launching in Nepal, even though it has been available for over a year now in markets abroad. In a way, the BMW G310R breaks new ground for BMW Motorrad, trying to tap into a completely new segment of motorcycles, not just in India, but even in emerging and rapidly growing motorcycle markets abroad. It’s a BMW for sure, only smaller, more compact and the first motorcycle from the German brand below 500 cc.
On the move, the G 310 R’s performance is familiar, since it shares its engine and chassis with the TVS Apache RR 310, but it’s still a little different. That’s because the G 310 R’s ECU is different, and there’s a lot less body weight than the TVS. For comparison, the Apache RR 310 weighs 170 kg, and it makes almost the same power and torque as the BMW, but at marginally higher revs. The 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is tuned to make 34 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm on the G 310 R and it weighs 158.5 kg, and that makes quite a bit of difference in the way the bike behaves and feels on the move.

BMW F 850 GS
The BMW F 850 GS is the most expensive bike available from the brands offering the Nepali market.
Apart from Increased power and torque as well as several unique touring characteristics, the new F 850 GS also has superlative off-road prowess.
The revised look of the F 850 GS has a more energetic and masculine aesthetic. The new LED headlamp has a particularly stunning aesthetic appeal from the front. The new F models come in both standard and Exclusive style variations in addition to the basic model. The new F 850 GS sports a Rally style option that emphasizes its off-road capability.
Two counterbalance shafts and an optimal firing interval of 270/450 degrees ensure smoothness and expressive sound in the F850 GS’s new powerful 2-cylinder in-line engine.
After reworking for ten years, BMW Motorrad has been reengineering its middle-class GS models in order to create an ultimate riding machine that is even more uncomplicated and carefree, whether used for sport-oriented road riding, on tour with luggage and a passenger, or on an adventure trip into off-road terrain.
The F 850 GS’s power and torque have been balanced, while fuel consumption has been reduced at the same time. 853 cubic centimetres of displacement and an output of 70 kW (95 hp) at 8250 rpm means that the engine has supreme power.
The 6-speed gearbox with secondary drive is now located on the left-hand side of the vehicle and provides power to the rear wheel.
A new, more robust and precise steel double-girder structure, with the engine serving as a structural member of the frame, was developed by BMW. The F 850 GS, on the other hand, offers a level of electrical complexity that is generally reserved for motorcycles with more powerful engines and a higher price tag.
BMW Motorrad ABS and the ASC automatic stability control are included in the new GS models to meet the needs of individual riders. The ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ riding modes are also available.
The new GS models in the F series include a bridge frame constructed of deep-drawn, welded parts. In terms of torsional rigidity and robustness, the 2-cylinder in-line engine serves as a co-supporting element. In order to save weight and improve handling, the fuel tank has been relocated between the seat bench and the steering wheel.
