H&H, the authorized dealer of Bajaj Auto in Nepal has launched the new variant of Pulsar – the NS160 featuring a rear disc and is priced at Rs.2,86,900 in the Nepali market.

Along with the new rear disc brake, this particular Pulsar NS160 also gets a set of new 5-spoke alloy wheels, similar to the ones seen on the regular Bajaj Pulsar 150. However, the rest of the design and styling bits on the bike appear to remain unchanged.

When the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 first came to the market, it was to compete with the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, and Honda CB Hornet. But the lack of a rear disc brake meant competition had the advantage. Now, Bajaj has updated NS160 with a disc on the rear wheel to better compete with those rivals.

The headlamp, tank and other body panels are identical to the NS200’s. The paint quality and general fit and finish are at par with the bigger Bajaj bikes, such as the Dominar 400.

The Pulsar NS160 is powered by a 160.3cc, 4-valve, oil-cooled DTS-i engine producing 15.5PS of power at 8500rpm and 14.6Nm of torque at 6500rpm. It is mated to a chain-driven 5-speed gearbox. The engine is nestled inside a pressed steel rigid perimeter frame that is derived from the NS200 and imparts sharper handling dynamics when compared to conventional frames.

Telescopic forks and a nitrox monoshock manage suspension duties, while braking is handled by a 240mm front disc brake and an optional rear disc (new)/130mm rear drum brake.

Fuel tank capacity stands at 12 litres and the bike weighs in at 142kg (kerb). The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with an 80/100 section tyre at the front and a 110/80 section rear tyre.
